What happens when you wake up in the morning not having enough hours of sleep? You might feel groggy, you might feel exhausted. You start drinking cups after cups of coffee trying to keep yourself awake but instead, you get a headache. As a result, you are not able to concentrate on your work, your studies, or other simple tasks that you normally do.
So what can you do to avoid lacking hours of sleep? Following are some helpful tips leading to your healthy sleep habits:
--> Choose a good mattress and an appropriate pillow.
--> Make your room as dark and as quiet as possible. Remember: your bedroom is a place for you to sleep and rest. Get rid of the television of radio if they distract you from sleeping. Also, turn off the lights and get your body ready to sleep in the dark.
--> We have a biological clock in our body that tracks our sleeping patterns. Try keeping your wake-up time consistent. Your body then gets tired and enables you to go to sleep at the appropriate time. This way you will get the right number hours of sleep you need before waking up.
--> Avoid taking naps during the day, which will affect your sleeping routine directly.
--> Avoid stimulus that will keep you awake such as caffeine and nicotine. In contrast, a glass of warm milk or hot chocolate will help you to better sleep on the other hand.
--> Exercise regularly. This helps you to sleep more soundly at night.
