Reduce fat Cutting fat helps you consume fewer calories. It is recommended that your diet should provide no more than 30 percent of total calories from fat.
Quit smoking Tobacco is hazardous to your health. Smoking is a high risk factor for heart disease and the development of cancer. Some of the diseases that are related to smoking are: coronary heart disease, cirrhosis of the liver, peripheral vascular disease, tongue cancer, larynx cancer, lung cancer, and many more. At the same time, cigarettes also do other bad things to your body such as giving you a bad breath, staining your teeth, lowering your hormones, etc. Needless to say, smoking is a big NO-NO.
Don’t be addicted to drinking Excessive drinking can cause health problems such as liver and kidney diseases and cancer. Alcohol can cause immediate effects to a person such as sleepiness, judgment and memory impairment. Long-term problems include high blood pressure, killing of brain cells, heart problems, etc.
Get enough sleep Lack of sleep makes you grumpy and less productive. Aim for an average of 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night.
Exercise Exercise is beneficial in many ways. Just to name a few, it builds and maintains healthy muscles, bones, and joints. It reduces the risk of developing some diseases and health problems such as heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, etc. It reduces and/or maintain body weight and fat. It also improves psychological well-being.
