For healthy eating, remember the following rules of thumbs:
01. Keep a daily intake of cholesterol below 300 milligrams. 02. Keep the total calories you get from fat below 30 percent.
When choosing your dishes, you can try to do an offset. For example, if one of your dishes is already delivering its calories from fat close to or over 30%, make compensation by choosing your other dishes that are low in fat. Another way of controlling you fat intake is by adding up the total grams of in your everyday diet. Here is the formula:
(Daily calorie allowance x 0.30) / 9 = Total fat allowance in grams.
For instance, a 2200-gram calorie diet would equal a total fat allowance in grams of: (1500x0.30) / 9 = 50 grams.
In addition, you should be obtaining the rest of your calories as follows:
45% - 65% of calories from carbohydrates 10% - 35% of calories from protein
